1. “The three bats”
Based on the fairy tale, “Goldilocks and the three bears”
Told by the students of 1/2H, Penrith PS, 2010.

2. Once upon a time there were three fruit bats.x

3. They were named Fruity, Batty and Robin.

4. The three fruit bats were just hanging around in the fruit trees.x

5. “Who’s been fiddling with my fruit?” asked each bat.x

6. The bats saw a farmer.

7. “Oh, what lovely apples!” exclaimed the farmer.

8. “I’m going to make some apple pies, apple sauce and fruit salad.”x

9. The bats watched as the farmer picked some apples.x

10. “Who’s been fiddling with our fruit?” asked the bats.x

11. When the sky went dark, the bats started to fly around.x

12. The farmer looked up. He saw the bats’ glowing eyes.x

13. The farmer screamed! He dropped his apples.x

14. “Who’s been fiddling with our fruit?” asked the bats.x

15. The bats flew down to get their apples back.
