5 Chapter 1 – Submission of Designs, Plans and Reports Simultaneous compliance issues shall be addressed Chemical checklist(s) shall be submitted with applications Energy efficiency shall be addressed 5

6 Chapter 1 (cont.) Permit application submittals required for new construction or substantial modifications Requirements for design/build construction concept are outlined Water use data is required 6

7 Chapter 1 (cont.) Application must include proposed treatment processes to be installed or modified Detailed plans must meet State Plumbing Code 7

8 Chapter 1 (cont.) DWP Policy 08-01 outlines modifications to previously approved plans that require permits Consecutive systems require written agreements between parties 8

9 Chapter 2 – General Design Considerations Locks are required for all exterior doors, windows, gates, etc. Facilities and access roads must be elevated Computer systems, including SCADA, must have firewalls/passwords and not be used for internet browsing 9

10 Chapter 2 (cont.) Facilities treating for primary and secondary standards shall not have bypasses unless approved in writing Testing and monitoring equipment required for various treatment processes is outlined 10
