2 A noun phrase consists of a named or unnamed person, place, thing, or idea and any words which modify or identify the noun. It acts as a single part of speech and can be referred to with a single pronoun. Examples: The tired young man (he) asked all his friends (them) to leave.

3 Practice The lazy young men sitting in their plastic lawn chairs did nothing the entire afternoon.

5 Writing Application Write your own sentence using a noun phrase.
