2 EMFA has a characteristic of one of the electrical actuator with a moving coil, because it can satisfy the requirements of high voltage circuit breaker extremely well for large stroke length and high power. Besides, EMFA is possible to attach it in a small spacer due to having a compact volume. EMFA is developed and designed by Seoul National University, Electro-mechanics Lab. EMFA (Electro-Magnetic Force driving Actuator) is designed for mechanism drive of middle & high voltage circuit breaker. The high voltage circuit breaker requires the actuator to be capable of carrying extremely high power during a long stroke length and short breaking time. However pneumatic, hydraulic, spring and permanent magnetic actuator are considered expensive, nosily and are not used wide.
