9 9 Soil Hazard Control u Hazard control options for soil-lead hazards include: ü Abatement  Remove and replace soil  Cover with cement or asphalt ü Interim controls  Plant grass  Lay sod  Cover with mulch or gravel

12 12 Soil-Lead Hazard Levels u Residential play areas ü 400 ppm u Other yard areas ü Average of 1,200 ppm

13 13 Soil Abatement u Small yards may require hand removal with shovels and wheelbarrows u Large yards will allow use of larger mechanical tools or trucks
