2. The history of establishment The Russian IT industry, being one of the most dynamic industries in our country, hasn’t had, until now, a mechanism to express and protect the interests. In the autumn of 2001 as a result of several meetings and discussions, leading IT companies agreed to establish a non-profit organization called the Information & Computer Technologies Industry Association (ICTIA - АП КИТ). The constituent assembly was attended by: 1С, ABBYY, Aquarius, Cable & Wireless, Cognitive Technologies, Crechet, DPI, EDventure Holdings, ELST, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, IBS, Intel, iТeco, Kraftway Computers, Microsoft, Oracle, R-Style, TopS, Verysell, XEROX, ASK, АКSIT, Belyi Veter, Dialog Nauka, IVK, Interface, Kaspersky Labs, Lanit, Marvel, Namip, Pirit and the other companies.

3. Goals and Objectives The Association concentrates its efforts on establishing a consolidated view for the IT industry through negotiations with government entities. The Association advocates the interests of the IT industry and favors the expansion of this market. This is a collaborative effort with the government authorities and a mechanism for interaction within the IT industry. It’s a co-coordinated effort aimed to expanding and developing of IT market. Charter of the Association provides an accurate picture of industry objectives: To protect and represent interests of members of the Association, working in IT; To work with all levels of the Russian Federation’s issues in legal, economic and social policy development that are in line with the professional interests of the Association members and to promote its implementation; To identify potential monopolies and unfair competition in IT; To assist IT companies’ in their development and to build civilized market relations in Russia; To assist in creating favorable conditions for members of the Association; To represent the international interests of the Association members; To coordinate entrepreneurial activity of its members, to represent and protect their common property interests.

4. The Lawyers’ Club works within the Association.

7. The Association Today Association unites more than 200 companies; Association is the most representative non-profit IT organization in Russia. Its members are the largest domestic and international companies in software, hardware and equipment production, the leading domestic distributors, system integrators, Russian IT manufacturers and developers; The total sum of annual revenue of the Association members is more than $ 2 Bln.; Association members hold up to 70% in a number of sectors of IT market; АП КИТ works in collaboration with the Ministries of Communication, Economic Development, Education, State Customs Committee, and participates in the activity of the number of committees and public councils of Gosduma; Established relations with the associations Alians Zashita, NP PPP, RATEK, ROСIT, Russoft, Sirius, SOI, SPI, Silicon Taiga. 9. Membership Association is open for membership. Any legal person accepting the Charter of the Association and capable to make a contribution in achieving the Association’s goal and objectives can become a member. Non-profit organizations can join the Association as associate members. All companies whether they are the founding members or have joined at a later stage, have equal rights, pay equal contributions and can attend meetings of the board and take part in proceedings of the Associations’ committees.
