1 A SIMPLISTIC LOOK AT WELLFIELD MANAGEMENT By Jim Murray

2 AQUIFER MAINTENANCE & PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS “OUR NAME SAY’S IT ALL” Aquifer Maintenance ( outside the borehole ) Performance Systems ( well equipment ) Over the past 70 years many companies through out the US have promoted and provided maintenance programs and even insurance policies to their customers to keep the wells operating. These programs are great with one exception; they focused mainly on the mechanical side ( rehabilitation, pumps, motors, filters, and surface equipment ) and not on the most important part of a well “WATER”, quantity and quality. The biggest misconception of a term “maintenance program” is again Standard mechanical maintenance vs. aquifer maintenance The modern and most needed type of maintenance in a wellfield is one that focus’s on the aquifer around the well and not what’s in the well. The control of bacteria, mineralization, Cell mutation, odor, color, turbidity and total performance are all done between the borehole wall and 50 feet outside the borehole which in the past have made these types of programs very difficult to do with out very large amounts of chemicals which in some case’s actually hurt the aquifer by creating chemical gels or cross linking (plugging), cell mutation (false positive results) and irretrievable and unspent chemicals (THM) and base polarity (turbidity). The unique programs that have been designed (patent #US8,636,908 B2) by AMPS INC (Aquifer Maintenance & Performance Systems) are focused on:
