1 HOW IT ALL STARTED… Short Interview with Miklós Varga (the headmaster of our school from 1959 to 1990) The basic idea of our school’s contact with Gymnasium Oedeme in Lüneburg came from Miklós Varga who was the headmaster of Bródy Imre Grammar School in Ajka from 1959 to 1990. Mr. Varga, what connection do you have with the remote German town, Lüneburg? My elder daughter, Edit lives in Lüneburg with her family. One of my granddaughters goes to Gym Oedeme.

How old is your granddaughter? She will pass her final exam this year.

How often do you meet your daughter and her family? Unfortunately, very rarely, Once or twice a year. I’m happy now because we’ll meet very soon before Easter.

What is the language of communication when you meet? My elder grandson can speak Hungarian as he was born here, but my granddaughters can only understand a bit but don’t speak Hungarian. So it’s very difficult to talk.

What do you do nowadays? I don’t feel very strong as I’m already 80. I like watching TV, reading and sometimes do some physical exercises. We hope you’ll enjoy good health and can spend a lot of time with your family. Thank you for the interview.

10 The school (lessons) The German students usually have got 6-8 lessons a day. The German students usually have got 6-8 lessons a day. 13 Library In Lüneburg there is a 300 square metres Library filled with many novels, plays, Cds, DVDs, Videos. The library was modernized in February. We hope it became nice!

14 The library in the Bródy Our library is about 125 square metres. There are more than 31.000 documents. They are mostly books but there are also Cds, DVDs and videos. There are also 7 computers, which we can use to search for books or to collect information for our homework.

18 Clothes Most of their clothes are ordered from the net. The collection is designed by Brands Fashion GmbH & Co KG. The main colours are dark blue and white. http://www.brands- schulkleidung.comhttp://www.brands- schulkleidung.com

19 Clothes We don’t have any rules about clothing. When there are any celebrations or any special occasions girls have to wear a sailor’s blouse and a black skirt or trousers. Boys have to wear a suit.

20 Sailor’s blouse It’s called sailor’s blouse, but don’t try it out at sea! Because it’s too thin.

21 The most popular kind of music is the rock… Famous rock bands are : Korn,System of a Down,Mötley Crüe and etc…

22 Dishes in the Oedeme canteen Many kinds of dishes can be found in the canteen (mensa) of Oedeme. For example: Indian, vegetarian and ect.

24 The favourite free time activities are doing sports,reading,and meeting friends… We think friends are the most important things in the Earth,and everything is better with Your friends… „Friends are angels who help if your wings have forgotten how to fly!”

25 What would You like to do when you grow up? Some students said that he/she would like to be a doctor,a traveller,a homeless and etc. But the most popular job is the teacher… Do You want to give back what You got…? :D GOOD LUCK!
