2. Panama is a small country located in Central America and is located in between Costa Rica and Colombia. Panama has one of the two most competitive economies in Latin America, the other one being Chile. Panama was voted for and won as the “Happiest Country In The World”, meaning it has the most satisfied and proudest people living in it. The Panama Canal aids in international trade through shipping. There is a lot of tourism in Panama.

3. The main language in Panama is Spanish. Panama has a population of nearly 4 million people. Over 1/3 of the population of the entire country lives in Panama City alone. 6% of the population is under the poverty line. Panama has one of the most culturally and nationally proud people not only in Latin America, but in the entire world. The life expectancy in Panama is around 78 years.

4. The Panama Canal has aided with in the economy of Panama. The canal creates an easier path for ships to travel through when going to any country in America. Without it, Panama, along with other American countries, would not be able to import and export goods as easily as it can today. Panama, along with Uruguay, has the most Internet users in Latin America.

5. The Panama Canal, logistics, banking, the Colon Free Zone, insurance, container ports, flagship registry, and tourism are services that have contributed to Panama’s great economy. Panama mostly exports gold, bananas, shrimp, sugar, iron and steel waste, pineapples, and watermelons. Panama mostly imports fuel products, medicines, vehicles, iron and steel rods, and cellular phones. Panama has an unemployment rate of 4.5%.

6. Panama is a very hot and humid country. It is either sunny or rainy most of the time. Panama is one of the countries with the purest water in the world. It is 100% safe to drink the tap water in Panama, but this could change if people continue dumping their garbage into the ocean. The production of bananas, rice, corn, coffee, sugarcane, vegetables, livestock, and shrimp is very high. Some natural resources in Panama would be copper, mahogany forests, shrimp, and hydropower.

7. Panama is divided into nine official provinces. Bocas del Toro Chiriquí Coclé Colón Darién Herrera Los Santos Panamá Veraguas Governmental positions change every five years, and Juan Carlos Varela is currently the president of Panama. Panama has international connections with countries like the United States, Canada, China, and Costa Rica through trade.

9. The percentage of child labor in Panama is 7%. The youth unemployment percentage is 15%. Panama is an open-minded and internationally welcoming country. Many people come from all over the world to visit or to live in Panama because of all its great aspects. Compared to the rest of the world, Panama has a relatively low crime rate. There is only some drug-dealing and money-laundering. There have been some corrupt leaders in the past, but everything is going well right now.

10. The location of Panama and its canal allows trade to be better than it could ever be. The country has no disputes or disagreements with any other country. The crime rate is relatively low in comparison to other countries in the world. The country has a vast supply of natural resources, which aids both its own economy and the rest of the world. There are people from all over the world visiting or living in Panama. Even though there is a huge percentage of people below the poverty line, Panama is a developing country, and this issue will be resolved.
