13. Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) Content on the Internet tends to move or be deleted, so scholarly publishers have begun assigning a DOI to journal articles. Unique alphanumeric string assigned which provides a persistent link Link to article if have authorized access OR Abstract and article for purchase When a DOI is available, include the DOI instead of the URL in the reference.
