6. Mug of the Month : September 2010 They say the smell in Merewent sent everyone home early but it was actually Gary & Glenn that didn’t shower. Jenny Sutton was convinced she’d run the SAP Striders 15, but when Mike pointed out that she’d ridden past him on her bike that morning she said, “O, then it was Sandy!” Nominations: Garth Hancock – Numerous cycling incidents: swerved to avoid glass on the road, hit the Armco barrier and cart wheeled over the top. Got a lift to the start of a cycle with his Dad and on the way back cycling into the wind could not stay with the group. Stopped and called his Dad to fetch him……….His phone will be confiscated for the Amashova Star of the Month – August 2010 Mike Sutton – for inviting all clubs to a Sunday morning trail run in Stainbank with different pace groups and “guides” and refreshments afterwards sponsored by Durban North Runner Jenny & Mike – After umpteen attempts to unlock the code of their car radio they found out the instructions referred to “point 6” which was the fast forward button whereas they were pressing channel number 6. Winner : Heather Conway – parked Steve's car while he was overseas in their normal illegal parking outside the Virgin Active Gym in town only to find when they came out that the vehicle was in the process of being towed to the pound. 7. Last month we reported that Barry was blowing up a storm in the UK. He’s safely home now and was kind enough to put together a few slides of his trip!
