Began as peaceful protests to end Moammar Gadhafi’s government Met with Gadhafi’s military force Protestors create the National Transitional Council to overthrow him in exchange for democracy September 16, 2011, United Nations recognize NTC instead of Gadhafi Gadhafi forces rallied and attacked coastal cities, UN declares a no-fly zone over Libya Gadhafi forces promised to cease attacks, but failed to uphold that promise Rebel forces turn to the offensive and take back lost territory Gadhafi flees but is soon captured

On October 20, 2011, Gadhafi was captured and killed while attempting to escape Sirte The National Transitional Council has declared liberation Official end of the war declared on October 23, 2011

Former Libyan Justice Minister Mustafa Abdel- Jalil annouced the creation of the NTC A lawyer named Abdel-Hafidh Ghoga claims to be the spokesperson of the council himself One of the main revolutionary leaders has been Mahmoud Gebril El Warfally Has been named prime minister of the NTC

Video of Gadhafi's death In rule since 1969 Wrote new laws in his manifesto, The Green Book Stepped down in 1977 but still held political power until 2011 Manipulated political structures in order to insure his dominance Political system became a puppet under Gadhafi

Began as peaceful opposition Rulers with too much power Rulers that took advantage of power Unfair military advantage against opposers Opposers take back lost territory

Ruler failed to uphold promise of no more attacks Ruler was from within Libya’s government, as opposed to being a whole different ruling country like England Ruler was captured, beaten, and killed Much shorter revolution

America is headed to better places even though the economy seems to be in the slums right now. There has been unimaginable amounts of progression since the American Revolutions that even if there were to be regression it would still be a million times better than where it started out. There is no stress of needing another revolution like some other countries in the world and whatever happens, it will always be possible to pull through. History has shown that the government that America has today has the absolute best qualities out of nearly every other government. If things need change, things will be changed, but always for the better.
