4 In our last lesson we learnt that “light…” can be used to project an image of the outside environment. 8 But what makes the “camera” so special?And how has technology such as a “camera” helped History?

9 Sometimes when we think of the past, we might imagine our parents or grandparents going to school when they were children. We might ask questions like… What did their school look like? Was it as big as our school? Pupils lined up outside the Otahuhu District School, ca 1920. School group attending the Agricultural and Pastoral show in Pukekohe during the 1920s How did they go to school? What kind of cars and buses did they travel in? Brand new school bus for a lucky school 1965. What did they wear? Did they wear school uniform? What kind of town did they live in? Was it as big as the town we live in now? Great South Road, Manurewa 1950s A “camera” is special because it can capture people and places from long ago. A camera can help us to see how people dressed and how places have changed overtime.
