13 Accelerated Programs Our Select Entry Accelerated Program commenced with Year 7 in 2010. This year our 6 th Year 7 Accelerated group commenced. We will continue our accelerated program in 2016. Mathematics Acceleration through selection into advanced maths groups from Years 7 – 10 culminating in advanced study of VCE Mathematics. In 2015, there are 3 groups (90 students) participating in Year 7 Maths acceleration. Accelerated study of VCE subjects from Year 10. This is decided on an individual basis through assessment of student needs and abilities (In 2015, 130 Year 10 students are undertaking an advanced VCE Study in Maths Methods, Legal Studies, Biology, History and Economics). 13

15 Year 7 Devices - 2016 At Wellington we recommend that parents purchase or lease one of the following devices for use in 2016 and beyond: Acer Netbook with SSD (Solid State Drive) or Acer Netbook with HD (Hard Drive) Detailed information will be available later in the year in the enrolment packages sent to Wellington families. 16 Compass introduced in 2013 Compass is an interactive on-line tool that allows parents to view their child’s attendance and progress. 16

Music and Sport Scholarships application closing date. Scholarship and Accelerated Program Tests at Wellington Secondary College (M Block). 35

36 Key dates for Year 7 enrolment By Friday 30 th May From Friday 30 th May Friday 22 nd May Parents return Year 7 Application Form to Primary School. NB: The new format of the Application Form. Selection process completed for Accelerated Program Scholarship and Accelerated Program results announced and families notified 36

Contact the General Office to express interest early in Term 3 Supply the General Office with copies of your last two sets of reports and a copy of your birth certificate, passport or appropriate travel documents Attend appropriate information sessions as advised by the General Office Attend enrolment interview with the Assistant Principal, Mrs Dulcie Commons. 37
