29 Kinds of Sentences Declarative sentence – makes a statement and ends with a period. Ex. Amy Tan was born in California. Imperative sentence – give a command Stop! Interrogative sentence – asks a question and ends in a question mark. Did the surfboard cost much? Exclamatory sentence – shows excitement and ends with an exclamation point. How terrifying was that movie!
