2 email: essexlions@verizon.net Who are Lions? The Essex Junction Lions Club is a civic organization of volunteers serving Essex Junction and the surrounding area. Lions Clubs worldwide took up sight conservation as their major goal after a speech by Helen Keller at the Lions Convention in 1925. She challenged the Lions to become "Knights of the Blind“, a challenge that has become a rallying cry for Lions projects around the world. Lions Clubs have 1.4 million members in 194 countries.
