1. Today we hear a lot about Jesus being our Saviour but very little about Jesus being our Lord. The Terms "Saviour" & "Lord" present two separate and distinct aspects of our relationship to Jesus Christ

2. DEFINITION OF TERMS – "JESUS" - a transliteration of the Hebrew "Joshua“ meaning Jehovah is the Saviour. – "CHRIST" - "Messiah" the anointed one, a term applied to the priest who were anointed with the Holy Oil Luke 2:1-11

4. DEFINITION OF TERMS – "LORD" - Master, Owner, Sir signifies having power or authority Used of an owner Lk 19:33 Used of one to whom service is due on any ground Matt 6:24 Used of an emperor or king Acts 25:26 Luke 2:1-11

5. JESUS AS SAVIOUR - DELIVERER OR PRESERVER – Of what is Jesus the saviour? (Implies someone is lost) The world Jhn 4:42 The body Eph 5:23 Individuals Phil 3:20; Tit 1:4 All that obey him Heb 5:8,9 Luke 2:1-11

6. JESUS AS SAVIOUR - DELIVERER OR PRESERVER – Having a saviour implies blessings to be received All spiritual blessings are in Christ Eph 1:3, 5-7; Acts 5:31; Rom 8:30; Heb 10:10; 4:15,16; 1Tim 2:5; 1Cor 15:54-56 Luke 2:1-11

7. JESUS AS SAVIOUR - DELIVERER OR PRESERVER – How do I receive these blessings provided by my Saviour? Obey the Gospel and remain faithful Luke 2:1-11

15. As Lord, Jesus has the right to expect me to give my allegiance to Him and His will unreservedly, to serve him faithfully until death in order to receive the promised reward Rev 2:10; Matt 10:22 Luke 2:1-11

16. As Lord, Jesus has the right to banish me eternally from the presence of Deity if I refuse to serve Him faithfully Matt 7:23 Luke 2:1-11
