Policy Inquiry is an online resource that allows insurance representatives and agency staff to view policy information including outstanding requirements on pending individual disability insurance (IDI) policies, and IDI policies that are in force.

This is a good page to bookmark since you can access everything from here that you need to sell individual disabilitywww.standard.com/di insurance with The Standard. To navigate to the Policy Inquiry, please click on Log In to Secure Services.

7 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company How insurance representatives contracted with The Standard can gain access to Policy Inquiry Contracted insurance representative who would like to access their customers’ policy information through Policy Inquiry must first obtain a login and password. They may request a registration letter to establish their login and password by emailing pol-individual@standard.com. pol-individual@standard.com The registration letter provides instructions on how to login to Producers Online to access Policy Inquiry.

8 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company How agency staff can gain access Policy Inquiry Agency staff of insurance representatives may request access to Policy Inquiry by completing the Request for Policy Inquiry, Form 8854IDI.Form 8854IDI The form must be signed by their MGA or SMP.

11 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company Policy Lookup The first page that you see after you enter your login and password allows you to search for IDI policies by: Policy Number Name of Insured and Name of Owner. The Policy Lookup feature allows you to access individual pending and in force policies.

12 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company Policy Lookup 00C1234560 First, let’s look at Policy Lookup by Policy Number. If you choose to search by policy number, you enter all ten digits of the policy number.

From the Search by menu, choose Name of Insured, then insert your cursor into the Search for cell and enter the last name, followed by a comma and the first name of the insured you are looking for.

14 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company Policy Lookup To perform a Policy Lookup using the Name of Owner search option: from the Search By menu, choose Name of Owner, then enter the policyowner’s name in the Search for cell; enter the last name first followed by a comma and the first name of the insured you are looking for.

You can also look up a new policy on the same screen.

The status of the policy is active in this example. You can go to Financial Activity by selecting the link at the top of the screen. This option is only available with In Force policies. The policy information displayed in Policy Inquiry is in real time.

The status of the policy is active in this example. You can go to Financial Activity by selecting the link at the top of the screen. This option is only available with In Force policies. It is Pending in this example. You can also search for a new policy number in this summary view by entering the policy number in the cell at the top right of the screen.

22 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company Summary View: In Force SMITH, JOHN 123 ANY LANE ANYTOWN, ST 00000 H)123-456-7890 W)123-456-7890 00/00/0000 CARE, EYE SMITH, JOHN The In Force Summary View is similar to the Pending Policy Summary view. You can find the insured name and address and the name of the writing producer. (If there are several producers the Summary will display all of the producers’ names.) The In Force Summary View also displays the premium and billing mode. If the policy is pending, the summary displays the status of premium payments.

The total base coverage amount displays under the Coverage section, and also under the Benefit and Rider Detail Section.

Under the Pending Requirements section, the date the underwriting requirement was requested and its status, are displayed in the second and third columns. You can search for a new policy by entering the policy number into the cell at the top right, or by clicking on the New Search links located at the top and bottom right of this screen. You can see any additional requirements needed for the underwriting process in the Notes section at the bottom left, first column.

Notice that the date on which The Standard mailed the policy is listed along with the due date all delivery requirements need to be returned to The Standard. This is a great feature to help track policy information.

29 A Guide to Policy Inquiry, 14506PPT(8/09) ©Standard Insurance Company What is the New Business Report? The New Business Report is part of Policy Inquiry. This report shows all the pending policies for an individual producer, MGA or SMP. The report is an abbreviated version of the Pending Requirements view and contains outstanding underwriting requirements only. The New Business Report for MGAs and SMPs lists producers and their pending policies, sorted by producer name. Please note: New Business Report only shows outstanding underwriting requirements and the time that has elapsed since they were requested by The Standard’s home office.
