29 Sole Source You can purchase any item that a sole source vendor provides.

30 Sole source vendors must hold one of the following: Sole Source means that there is only one person or company that can provide a needed service or product.

31 PATENT Government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using or selling an invention.

32 COPYRIGHT Exclusive legal right given to the originator/assignee to print, publish, perform, film or record literacy, artistic or musical material and to authorize others to do the same.

33 MONOPOLY The exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service (sole provider of a viable product/service).

34 SECRET PROCESS Any formula, pattern, physical device, idea, process or compilation of information that both: -provides owner with a competitive advantage in the marketplace; and -is treated in a way that can be expected to prevent the public or competitors from learning about it, absent improper acquisition or theft.

This list also contains a link to each vendor’s completed sole source affidavit. A blank sole source affidavit can be found on the purchasing website under the forms tab. 37 Before you choose open market make sure you have: Checked to see if the item(s) you are needing are under one of our approved RFP vendors. Is the item(s) considered Sole Source? Ask the company if they are the sole provider for the item(s). Is the item(s) available from any of the Inter-local Cooperatives we are currently a member of?
