1. COMENIUS PROJECT (2008 – 2010) - part I _ 1st year activities - “When the Stone becomes a Jewel”

2. 1st MINERAL EXPLORATION  10th of November 2008  Nikisiani, Pangeo Mountain, Region of Kavala, Greece  ten students visited two open air excavation areas of white marble and saw the actual procedure of marble extraction

3.  they also visited two factories at the same area and took knowledge of the marble elaboration 1st MINERAL EXPLORATION

4.  the students had the opportunity to select pieces of marble in order to use them for the creation of jewels for 1st year Comenius the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition Travelling Exhibition 1st MINERAL EXPLORATION

5.  ten jewels with white marble have been designed and created in laboratory during November and December 2008 for the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition from the students : Design and Creation of the Jewels Rodi Vogiatzi Vasiliki Iliadou Viky Zachariadou Iasonas Kampanis Tzeni Kastropoulou Vagia Kefalogianni Signe Michail Nikoleta Mpora Athina Stamou Despoina Fylli

6.  three students and two professors visited the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition in Saint-Amand Montrod, France, from 18th to 22nd of January 2009 and they also visited the partner school “Lycee Professionel Jean Guehenno” 1st VISIT of the COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

7.  21st of January 2009  Volvic, Region of Clermont-Ferrand, France  our students visited an open air excavation area of volcanic stone and had the opportunity to get pieces of it, in order to use them for the creation of jewels for the 2nd year Comenius Travelling Exhibition 2nd MINERAL EXPLORATION

8.  three students and one professor visited the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition in Antwerp, Belgium, from 12th to 16th of February 2009 2nd VISIT of the COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

9.  they also visited the partner school “SIHA Institute” and some shops exhibiting stones in Antwerp, getting some rough diamonds in order to use them for the creation of jewels for the 2nd year Comenius Travelling Exhibition 2nd VISIT of the COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

10.  three students and two professors visited the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition in Liepaja, Latvia, from 13th to 18th of May 2009, having also a visit at the partner school “Liepajas Makslas Vidusskola” 3rd VISIT of the COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

11.  our delegation visited places in Liepaja where was exhibiting amber, getting some rough and polished pieces in order to use them for the creation of jewels for the 2nd year Comenius Travelling Exhibition and also visited the Palanga's Amber Museum in Lithuania 3rd VISIT of the COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

12.  the presentation of the 1st year Comenius Travelling Exhibition in Thessaloniki took place from 25th of May to 8th of June 2009  during the opening day was present a delegation of the partner school of Liepaja - Latvia, who also visited our Institute 1st COMENIUS TRAVELLING EXHIBITION in THESSALONIKI
