Overview Bass Strait Updated Results Updated Results: T/P: Existing MGDR-B and RGDR (using only new orbits from RGDR)  Cycles 344 to 365 (Formation Flight Period) Jason-1: GDR-A and GDR-B data  Cycles 001 to 022 (Formation Flight Period)  Cycles 067 to 135 Jason-1: GDR-B data  Cycles 001 to 022, 067 to 185 Pg 3 of 11

Formation Flight, Cycles 344 to 365 Existing and New RGDR (New Orbit) TOPEX/Poseidon Results Mean T/P Bias: Existing MGDR-B Data: 0 mm New (RGDR) Orbits: -13 mm Pg 4 of 11

Formation Flight, Cycles 001 to 022 Jason-1 GDR-A and GDR-B Results Mean J-1 Bias (GDR-A and GDR-B Data): GDR-A (POE Orbit): +152 mm GDR-A (GPS Orbit):+128 mm Pg 5 of 11

Formation Flight, Cycles 001 to 022 Jason-1 GDR-A and GDR-B Results Mean J-1 Bias (GDR-A and GDR-B Data): GDR-A (POE Orbit): +152 mm GDR-A (GPS Orbit):+128 mm GDR-B Data: +105 mm Pg 6 of 11

Cycles 67 to 135 Jason-1 GDR-A and GDR-B Results Mean J-1 Bias (GDR-A and GDR-B Data): GDR-A Data: +132 mm GDR-B Data: +106 mm Pg 7 of 11

Cycles 1 to 185 Jason-1 GDR-B Results Mean J-1 Bias: GDR-B Data: +107 mm Pg 8 of 11

Preparations underway for Jason-2 cal-val Similar methodology planned: GPS buoys and longer term mooring deployments offshore from tide gauge and CGPS. National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) has funded 100+ CGPS sites for deployment in Australia (2007 -). Australian tide gauge sites high on the priority list. Burnie to get inland CGPS in addition to TG CGPS. NCRIS has also partly funded an equipment test of the FLTRS system at the Bass Strait site (2007/08). We look forward to this collaboration with our French colleagues. Currently planning logistics, site selection etc. Bass Strait Site – Jason-2 Pg 9 of 11
