Teach the to love God with every fiber of their being (Matthew 22:37-38) Teach them to love people with ture humility (Matthew 22:39-40) Teach them how to make disciples themselves for Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20) Leadership Development Requires an Ever-Deepening Walk with Christ (people “self-select out” when they refuse to do this!) Leadership Development is Based in Relationship (think Barnabas & Paul or Paul & Timothy) Leadership Development Takes Time

ADDRESSING RESISTANCE Better have started with prayer and intercession (see notes from Developing a Biblical Vision) Take them back to the Bible 1.Jesus taught the multitudes (Academic) 2.Jesus trained the 70 (tactical) 3.Jesus lived with the 12 (daily, life-on-life example) 4.Jesus poured himself into Peter, James and John (Life investment in a FEW) 5.John 13:15-17; 20:21; Matthew 28:19-20 Lead by Consistent Example Ensure your Leaders have disciples Work with the Four Personalities
