“SSTPS” is owned by Rajasthan Rajya vidhyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. The techno-economic clearance for the project was issued by CEA in June 1991 Plant Capacity :1500 MW (6*250MW) units EXTENSION UNIT : 7&8 (2*660MW)

It has generation capacity of 1500 MW and installed with six units of 250 MW each It is a coal based thermal station Coal is received from coal fields of MP , Jarkhand Water is received from Indira Gandhi Canal

8 STEAM TURBINE Steam turbine is a rotating machine which CONVERTS HEAT ENERGY OF STEAM TO MECHANICAL ENERGY The Thermal Power Plants with steam turbine uses Rankine cycle The turbine is of tandem compound design with separate HP, IP and LP cylinder. The HP & IP turbines are of single flow type while LP turbine is of double flow type.

10 BOILER It converts fuel energy into steam energy
The fuel may be furnace oil, diesel oil, natural gas or coal The boiler installed in S.T.P.S. are made by BHEL Continuous steam output of 375 tons/hour at 138 kg/cm2 pressure and 540 degree cent. Temp

11 Generator Generator is directly coupled with turbine and it convert mechanical energy into electrical energy Energy conversion is based on the principal of the production of dynamically In this plant water cool generator is used for generating electricity Speed 3000 rpm/50Hz.

12 Booster pump 50 % tandem boiler feed pump sets are supplied to this contact, three pump sets for each boiler The booster pump is a single stage, horizontal, axial split casing type, having the suction and discharge branches on the casing bottom half Hence it allows the pump internals to be removed without disturbing the suction and discharge pipe work of the alignment between the pump and the motor.

13 COOLING TOWER A cooling tower is an equipment used to reduce the temperature of a water stream by extracting heat from water and emitting it to the atmosphere. Cooling towers make use of evaporation where by some of the water is evaporated into a moving air stream and subsequently discharged into the atmosphere.

14 SWITCH YARD 220KV SYSTEM :- 220 KV System :- i). CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Each of the generator is connected to this system through a step up of 125 MVA 240/ 11 KV yard generator transformer. There are two step down transformer each feeding 6.6 KV system (Station Switchyard ). Four feeder take off from 220 switch yard two to SAKATPURA ,GSS  and other to HEERAPURA, Jaipur GSS. 220 KV System :- i). CIRCUIT BREAKERS ii). ISOLATOR

15 C.B & ISOLATER These are used for automatic switching during normal or abnormal conditions . There are SF6 circuit breaker is used . There are four types of C.B. Air blast C.B. Oil C.B. Vacuum C.B. SF6 C.B. ISOLATER:- These are used to disconnection transmission line under no-load condition for safety
