Captioning  Distil the final discussion between Nora and Torvald into just 10 still images. p.218 HELMER: Look, just look what a lot they are to the end.  Caption these in a Brechtian manner.  Consider the structure of the scene and the turning point, at what point does their relative status change? How does the structure of the scene change and the pattern of the language change? How does the non-verbal communication alter?  This will inevitably lead to alternative interpretations depending on your view of Nora.

3. Captioning Now use chairs, bags, blocks anything you can find in order to present these images more non- naturalistically and to represent the change in status more visually.

4. Captioning Stage the images and then go straight into the final duologue from p.229 “NORA: For eight years I’d waited so patiently” to the end.

5. Captioning Now consider the alternative ending that Ibsen wrote for the German premiere. Do the images still fit? How does the ending alter the interpretation of character? How would you alter the images?

6. Captioning How would you mould the images to make them make more sense?
