2 Ross Meloan, National Clinician National Instruction Program National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association © NISOA 2014 NCAA Rule 12.6.1-Fighting Fighting is defined on page 58 of 2012-2013 NCAA Soccer Rules and Interpretations. 12.6 Violations 12.6.1 Fighting. Definition: A fight is defined as a deliberate strike or punch or an attempt to strike or punch another player, official, coach or bench personnel. These acts include, but are not limited to, kicking, head-butting, hair pulling or an open-handed strike if done deliberately and in a malicious manner. 2

Do what you can, short of physical contact, to separate participants; use closest AR if necessary Remember that coaches can come off the bench to assist Identifying players involved may require assistance Take your time and involve rest of the officiating crew, if necessary 4
