Any answer without the miniumum data will receive half credit only since textual evidence is KEY to Common Core and AP.  Claim: ANSWERS THE PROMPT DIRECTLY. Ex. Shakespeare uses visual imagery and connotative diction in the Porter’s scene to create a satirical tone.  Characterization refers to a personality trait.  Meaning=message or theme. Themes are NOT one word. Ask: 1. What is the topic? 2. What is this scene/play saying about the topic? Ex. The banquet scene portrays the idea that guilt has an adverse effect on the psyche of people.
