2 What is Paraphrasing? Paraphrasing is the process of rewriting someone else’s idea(s) into your own words. It requires you to re-word your information. A paraphrase usually is as long as the original passage. A paraphrase my include some of the same words as the original quote. However, try to use your own words or synonyms whenever you can.

3 What is Summarizing? Summarizing is the main idea of the work. A summary is condensed (more briefly stated) when compared to the original passage or quote.
