You may be asking, “How will the Bible benefit me?” “What is in the Bible for me?”

Here are some of the benefits. (Thanks to Jerry Vines and Jim Shaddix in their book, Power in the Pulpit.)

“How will the Bible benefit me?” It promises prosperity and success for those who obey the Word (Joshua 1:8).

It converts (makes a change) in the life of a person. It gives wisdom to those that need it (Psalm 19:7-8).

It gives joy to the heart. It enlightens (opens) our eyes ( Psalm ( Psalm 19:7-8).

“How will the Bible benefit me?” It is everlasting, true, righteous, invaluable, and sweet (Psalm 19:11).

It provides both warning and reward (Psalm 19:11).

It cleanses and helps us avoid sin (Psalm 119:9-11).

It provides guidance and direction (Psalm 119:105).

It is truth. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

It results in faith. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

It teaches us what is right and what is wrong.

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:14-17).

The bottom line is this: the Bible is inspired, inerrant, infallible, and relevant for people of all times.
