4 Instructional Objectives Students will learn about each planet. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of gravitational attraction between the sun and planets and how it influences the path of the planet. Students will be able to describe the solar system, naming the planets, natural satellites, and the sun. Students will understand the differences between the sun, planets and natural satellites. Students will write a narrative on each planet based on facts collected. Students will create a watercolor poster showing the characteristics of one planet.

8 Student Activities List Use the selected web sites to find specific information on each of the nine planets. 9 Portfolio Checklist Title Page = 5 points Table of Contents = 5 points Each Narrative = 5 points Each Picture = 5 points Missing information, neatness and spelling will be counted in the categories of narrative and picture.

10 Results EXCEEDS- 7 Students received a 90 points or better on their finished report. MEETS- 10 Students received 80 to 89 points on their finished report. DOES NOT MEET- 4 Students received 70 to 79 points on their finished report. TITLE I- 4 Students received 69 points or lower on their finished report.
