2. What Is Day Camp? Day Camp is an organized, daytime only, five-day program for Wolves, Bears & Webelos. Day Camp is run under certified & trained leadership by many dedicated volunteers.

3. When & Where Is Day Camp? June 21 –June 25, 2010 Deep Run Park on Ridgefield Parkway Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 12:00pm

4. What is the Purpose of Day Camp? Provides a summer activity for your Cub Scouts. Aids in the progress of individual Cub Scout advancement. Helps boys maintain interest in Cub Scouts. Gives your pack the opportunity to earn the Summertime Pack Award. Assists in the recruiting & training of present & future Cub Scout leadership. WE HAVE FUN!

5. Who Attends Day Camp? Rising Tigers are boys who have completed Kindergarten or are 7 years old. They may attend one day. Rising Wolves are boys who have completed 1 st grade or are 8 years old. Rising Bears are boys who have completed 2 nd grade or are 9 years old. Rising Webelos are boys who have completed 3 rd grade or are 10 years old. Second year Webelos are also welcome to attend.

7. What is the Cost for Day Camp? $75 for Wolf, Bear or Webelos. This is for five days attendance and includes a camp t-shirt, a water bottle, a Day Camp attendance patch, insurance costs, and program materials. $20 for Tigers. This is for one day attendance (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). It includes BSA Registration, a camp t-shirt, a water bottle, a Day Camp attendance patch, insurance costs, and program materials.

8. Is Lunch Provided? There are no dining hall facilities at camp. Scouts and chaperones must bring their own sack lunch. Full-time Staff will be given the opportunity to purchase lunch for themselves and their children.

9. How Do I Register My Scout? Go online at www.cardinaldaycamp.org for registration forms. Each person who attends (Scouts, chaperones, staff, or junior campers) must complete a:  Registration Form  Medical Health Form Each pack will designate a Pack Day Camp Coordinator. Turn your registration and medical forms in to the Coordinator. The Coordinator will compile all the completed forms and key them in online.

10. How Are Parents Involved? Each Pack must supply 1 chaperone PER DAY for up to every 5 Cubs or 5 Webelos who attend. Example: 13 Cubs (Wolves & Bears) = 3 chaperones PER DAY 9 Webelos = 2 chaperones PER DAY Plan now to chaperone for at least one day! Each Pack must supply 1 full-time adult staff (or 2 set-up AND 2 take-down people) for up to every 10 Scouts who attend. Example: 22 Scouts attending = 3 full-time adult staff or equivalent

11. Can I Bring My Other Children? Yes! When you volunteer as a chaperone or staff person, a “junior camp” is provided, free-of-charge, for children under 12. If you have older children (age 14+), have them consider volunteering at Day Camp! Full-time youth staff earn 45 hours of community service for high school.

12. Is There Any Training Necessary? Yes! Day Camp Training or Refresher is mandatory for ALL chaperones and staff (youth & adult). Dates will be announced for May and June. Youth Protection Training is strongly suggested. Go to www.olc.scouting.org and click on Youth Protection Training. TRAINED chaperones will receive a camp t-shirt free-of-charge!

13. What are the Security Procedures? Each scout & “junior camper” will be issued a numbered tyvek wristband. A detachable stub with the same number will be given to the person dropping off the scout. This number MUST be presented at the end of the day to pick up your child. In addition, all camp participants (chaperones, staff, “junior campers” & scouts) should wear the official camp t-shirt every day. This helps distinguish us from the rest of the park population.

14. What Should Scouts Bring? Camp uniform (official camp t-shirt, which will be distributed on Monday), shorts, hat or visor, socks & closed-toe shoes. Water bottle (distributed on Monday). Sack lunch Sunscreen Insect repellant

15. What Should Chaperones Bring? Camp uniform (official camp t-shirt), shorts, hat or visor, socks & closed-toe shoes. Water bottle Sack lunch & extra snacks Sunscreen & insect repellant Camp/folding chair Picnic blanket Wagon – each pack should consider providing a wagon for the week to carry water bottles & extra items.
