3 All Saints, Frances Road, Windsor Worship Survey, October 2013 Survey Summary Well executed survey with adequate response rate (a bit low on 20 th, otherwise good) Helpfully, most respondents gave their names It is useful to have different responses from different types of services over the month We received mostly positive responses with some high scores, but remember, the people responding are the people who attend! Useful comments on things to improve will help PCC to meet people’s needs better and enhance the worship; enhancing things for those who do attend is a vital step towards attracting more to attend Different people look for and find different things in our worship, but some aspects do succeed in appealing to all attendees

11 All Saints, Frances Road, Windsor Worship Survey, October 2013 Conclusions and Recommendations, 1 The most liked parts of the services are singing, both congregation and choir Friendliness, conversation, refreshments, and just being accepted and welcomed are valued highly and score well Many respondents value children’s involvement in Sunday School, Sunday Xtra and the Harvest service, including: - celebrating Harvest with my children- children leading prayers and bringing gifts - children learning about the Bible- children meeting and working together with other kids Another group stresses the importance of peace and quiet, calm, time to pray and concentrate in the presence of God Many also mention the Welcome on entry to church, Sermon, Communion, Arts & Crafts (Sunday Xtra) and Intercessions as highlights Readings score relatively low versus other parts of the service

12 All Saints, Frances Road, Windsor Worship Survey, October 2013 Conclusions and Recommendations, 2 The PCC must improve the sound system. One respondent said “the sound system is truly appalling”; many others said they couldn’t rate the service because they couldn’t hear it, particularly from the chancel and from the back Readers’ diction and general quality of delivery needs to be more consistent Clergy to consider feedback on pitching the sermon to the audience, consistent quality of delivery, more eye contact, length, repetition and closing with a call to action Work for more consistency of welcome and introduction across Team clergy and visiting priests Work carefully on continuity, flow and energy as service progresses Hymns: practise ‘unknown’ ones more; include easier ones for children (a new book might help) Sunday Xtra: consider having more readings actually from the Bible, with interpretation Continue to work at bringing congregations together, while recognising that different people do value different things, which needs to be valued and respected Worth going through the individual responses to find other improvements to make
