11 This is the CLS DMX144 Compact Light Mixer Let’s get starting

12 The first you see in the display when you connect the power is the software version.

13 Press one F-key to remove the startup text in the display.

14 MIX-MODE Mixing, Saving, Editing SCENES

15 You will see The Mix-Mode screen in the display.

16 Set the Master fader to maximum.

17 Selecting a program: Press and hold the Prg

18 The display tells you to Choose PROG with flash button

20 Selecting a Group: Press and hold the Grp: STOP ! What is a group ???

21 GROUP = 1 page of the DMX144’s faders. Group 1 = DMX Channels 1- 12 Group 2 = DMX Channels 13- 24 Group 3 = DMX Channels 25- 36 Group 4 = DMX Channels 37- 48 Group 5 = DMX Channels 49- 60 Group 6 = DMX Channels 61- 72 Group 7 = DMX Channels 73- 84 Group 8 = DMX Channels 85- 96 Group 9 = DMX Channels 97-108 Group 10 = DMX Channels 109-120 Group 11 = DMX Channels 121-132 Group 12 = DMX Channels 133-144

22 Selecting a Group: Press and hold the Grp:

23 The display tells you to Choose GROUP with flash button Do it !

24 The display tells you to Choose GROUP with flash button The Led’s will light. It is possible to select more than 1 group, up to 12, at the same time.

25 Mix the lights the way you want them.

28 Save the scene to memory: Press and hold the Mem button.

32 Save the Scene to the next flashknob…

33 Mix again and save the Scene to the next flashknob… and so on, up to number 12.

34 Select a new program: Press and hold the Prg

35 The display tells you to Choose PROG with flash button

36 Choose the next Prog

37 The display tells you the name of the next program The internal limit of capacity: 12 Prog with 12 Scene each.

38 Press and Hold the Edit knob. With this function you can EDIT a Scene that is Saved.

39 The display tells you to Choose SCENE with a flash knob.

40 The display tells you that the Scene is loaded and it is ready for Editing.

41 Change the Scene as you wish.

42 Save the Scene to the same location or another by holding the… Mem knob and…

44 Pressing a flash knob. The display tells you that the Scene is Saved. This function can also be used to Copy Scenes to other locations.

45 PROGRAM-MODE Running, Naming, Copying PROGRAMS

55 Adjust the Crossfading time between the Scenes with fader 12. NB! Master on maximum.

56 Naming Programs: Press and release the Nam knob.

58 Choose character with the Master fader.

59 Move the cursor with the F1 and F2 knobs.

62 Copying Programs: Press and release the Copy knob.

64 Press and hold the From knob. This is the Source Program. Choose Program with flashknob

65 Press and hold the To knob. This is the Destination Program. Choose Program with flashknob

66 Press OK to confirm, the display tells you the progress indication and the Program is copied.

67 Press Xit to leave the Program-Mode

68 SETUP-MODE Reset Patch, Fade On/Off, Patch This is functions for more experience users.

69 In Mix-Mode: Press and release the Edit knob.

70 This takes you to the Setup-Menu.

71 Press and release the Rst knob. RESET Patch Menu.

72 Press Yes to confirm that you want to Reset all Patching. WARNING ! Are you sure ?

75 This takes you to the Fade On/Off Menu.

76 Ex: Let’s say that you have a movinghead and it has the color wheel on channel 1, the gobo wheel on channel 2 and the pan and tilt on ch. 3 and 4. If the fader is on (default) on every channel and you want the movinghead to move Slowly from one direction to another. At the same time you want to change color and gobo. What will happened ? Yes, the movinghead will move slowly as you programmed, but the color- and gobo wheel will also move slowly till it reach the right color and gobo, resulting that it is changing colors and gobos in the hole movement. When you have the possibility to turn off the fading on channel 1 and 2, the movinghead will changes the color- and gobo instantly, but the pan and tilt will move slowly as it should. Why Fade On or Off menu ?

77 Fade On/Off Menu.

78 Choose DMX ch. that you want to Fade or not with the Master Fader. Turn Fade On or Off with F1 or F3.

79 Press and release the Ptch knob: This takes you to the PATCH Menu

80 With the Patch-Menu you can change the DMX channels… on the Faders of the DMX144.

81 This means that you can control other DMX ch. than the one… that is default on the faders.

82 Ex: Somebody on stage has reversed the connection on lamp 13 and 14. What to do ?

83 In Patch-Menu: Move the Master Fader and press DEL on ch.13 + 14. They are now ready to be Patched.

84 Find the DMX Ch.14 and press Mix Ch.(F3)

85 Find the Mixers ch. 13 and confirm with OK. NB! You will see that it is only Deleted channels that is available.

86 TIPS: If you don’t know which DMX number your lights are using, just look at the lamps when you move the master fader. You will see that the light is changing from one lamp to another as you changes the DMX Channel. The mixer is sending out value of 80%.

87 Press Exit to leave the Patch Menu

88 CARD-MENU Load and Save Patch Programs Fade On/Off The Card Menu is only available with a CLS Memory Card inserted !

89 CLS Memory Card Expand the DMX144’s Memory

90 Insert the Memory Card in the Mixers Memory Card slot.

91 Press and Release the Mem knob.

92 This takes you to the Card-Menu.

93 Press and Release the Load knob.

94 This takes you to the Load from Card Menu

95 Press and Release the Patch knob. OVERWRITTEN !!! NB! The internal Memory will be

100 The display tells you that the Fade Settings is LOADED from Card.

111 Chase-Menu: Press and hold the Chaser knob. Choose Chase mode: Auto

112 While holding the Chase knob: Press and release Auto and Chase AUTO-CHASE

113 Choose programs for the Auto Chase with flash knobs.

114 It is possible to select up to all of the 12 programs with 12 scenes each.

115 Adjust the length of the Scene’s Pause with fader 11.

116 Adjust the Speed of the Cross-Fade between Scenes with fader 12.

117 Press and hold the Chaser knob. Choose Chase mode: Sound

118 While holding the Chase knob: Press and release Sound and Chase SOUND-CHASE

119 Choose programs for the Sound Chase with flash knobs.

120 Connect an audio signal from a sound source… to the DMX144 audio in.

121 Adjust the sensitivity of the audio signal with fader 10. The scenes will change in sync with the music.

122 Press and hold the Chaser knob. Choose Chase mode: Foot

123 While holding the Chase knob: Press and release Foot and Chase FOOT-CHASE

124 Connect a stereo minijack from a double Footswitch Controller.

125 Choose programs with flashknobs.

126 Right knob = Stepping up Scenes. Left knob = Blackout. Changes Scenes from the Foot-Controller.
