Regardless, Abu Jahil and other pagans did not fulfill their promise and refused to believe and said “ This is a persistent Magic.” So Allah revealed the Sura of the Moon “The hour drawn near and the moon has split, and if they see a sign they turn their backs and say it is persistent magic, they lied and followed their desires and surely, every matter will be settled and indeed they’ve heard the news wherein, there is enough warning, perfect wisdom, but breaching the warnings benefit them not, So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner, summoneth them unto a painful thing.”.
