2 Reminders Attendance Grading – Progress Reports – Quarter Collaboration Lesson Labels Instructional Warm-Up – Begin on short bell – 8 minutes total – Possible focus of instructional warm-up

3 Attendance – Begin entering attendance Tuesday. – If they were not in your classroom, just mark them present and hit submit. Student Support will adjust attendance based on legitimate absences. – Attendance should be submitted during the 1 st 10 minutes of class (moving forward) – Legal document – so be meticulous

4 Grading Grades – Progress Reports Should be entered by the COB Tuesday If students haven’t been in your class at least 3 weeks, they shouldn’t fail on the progress report You can give I’s on the progress report After this progress report, grades will be what students earn – Quarter Grade BTWay

5 Lesson Labels All lesson labels should be written to the student. They should be student-friendly! Today, you will learn... Demonstrate your learning by... Why is this important?... Homework...

6 Today you will learn... 1.This is the day’s objective. It tells the students what they will learn today. 2.This objective is written to the student for the student 3.Avoid educational jargon!!! 4.May have between 1 and 3 objectives listed

9 Now take the time to write 3 objectives you know you will cover this week/next week

12 Lesson Labels Today you will learn...How to collaborate with colleagues Demonstrate your learning by… 100% of all teachers will select 3 teachers whose resources/knowledge can assist you with some aspect of the work. Justify (with at least 3 reasons) why you selected these three people, and explain how you intend to gather this knowledge/resource.

13 Now take the time to write the “Demonstrate Your Learning By”…for all three of the objectives you wrote.

14 Why is this important? 1.This label explains why students need to know the information they are learning. 2.What are the real-life implications of meeting this objective?

15 Why is this important? Collaboration is important so that educators will not have to “reinvent the wheel”. When you learn to collaborate, you learn to capitalize on the other persons resources and skills and find support in the work. Many hands make light work.

16 Now take the time to write the “Why is this important”…for all three of the objectives you wrote.

17 Homework 1.Should cause students to engage in the content. 2.Should be an extension of the content. 3.Should be assessed the next day.

18 Homework? 1.Listen to the radio or watch television and find an example of a group or a team who does not collaborate. What happened as a result of their inability to collaborate?

19 Now take the time to write the “Homework”…for all three of the objectives you wrote.
