Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Sky/Heaven) Children: huge monsters 3 monsters with 100 hands and 50 heads 3 Cyclopes (monsters with 1 eye) Titans: not solely destructive Uranus hates 100 handed monsters Imprisons them Gaia asks other children to help Titan Cronus(Saturn) attacks his father and wounds/defeats him

2. Cronus and his sister/wife Rhea rule the universe Cronus knows that one of his children will one day dethrone him Swallows all of his children to avoid this Rhea gives birth to Zeus Sneaks him off to Crete; wraps a stone in clothing, which Cronus swallows Zeus comes back and eventually forces him to throw up all of his children and the rock

3. Cronus and Titans wage war against Zeus and siblings Zeus releases 100 handed monsters to help (they use lightning and earthquakes) One titan, Prometheus, helps Zeus Zeus and siblings win Imprison titans beneath the earth Titan Atlas (Prometheus’ brother) forced to hold the heavens apart from the earth
