Definition Integrate- join two or more objects or make something part of a larger whole, or be made part of a larger whole. For commissioning an integrated system test can be defined as: a test that brings previously functionally tested systems together and simultaneously will test the designed control sequence for all associated systems as a whole in various modes. 5/7/20152

Examples of Integrated System Test I have included 3 examples of types of integrated system test. Stair pressurization system which could be in most buildings Hospital considerations that could work for a multitude of systems Laboratory and/or vivarium considerations that become more complex 5/7/20153

Examples of Integrated System Test This discussion is for only HVAC systems but the same type of testing should be considered for life safety, security, lighting, plumbing, elevators, and any kind of special process systems. 5/7/20154

Examples of Integrated System Test Stairwell Pressurization Emergency power system with stair well pressurization system. In buildings that have floors 75 feet above grade a stair pressurization is required. The system will be tested under normal power when originally tested. When the building looses power and the power is transferred to the emergency generator the stair pressurization system will be retested, which is an integration of the emergency power system with the stair pressurization system. 5/7/20155

Examples of Integrated System Test Stairwell Pressurizati This test will determine the stairwell pressurization fans start after emergency power has been established and they are operating with the correct rotation. This test will also establish the dampers, alarms and smoke detectors are operational under emergency power. The last part of this test will be to verify everything is operational after returning to normal power. 5/7/20156
