6 Megan’s Story When I was 21, I was travelling back from Florence over a puente. I took a Ryan Air plane from Piza to Girona, a bus from Girona to Barcelona and a bus from Barceonla to Madrid. All went according to plan until I got on my final bus to Madrid. I was riding the bus when suddenly it stopped in Zaragoza and the bus driver said something in Spanish I couldn’t understand. I looked up from my book and realized that everyone had gotten off the bus and onto another! Apparently, the bus stopped in Zaragoza and I had to switch buses! They took off before I could get on.

7 Megan’s Story The bus driver told me to wait for the next bus which would arrive in 30 minutes. At midnight I waited alone in the bus station of Zaragoza with a Peruvian family. Luckily, the bus arrived and when I went to talk to the bus driver, he said “it would be my pleasure to take you to your destination.” Apparently he’d dated a girl from Miama and was still in love with her. For the next 4 hours I sat next to him and he told me stories about Spain and about his former love. Meanwhile the rest of the bus was trying to sleep! Man did they hate me! In the end, I made it to Madrid at 4 am and had to take a taxi home but I’ll never not pay attention to what a bus driver says ever again!
