Swimming Upstream: God’s Kingdom and Popular Culture Session Ten - A Voice for the Orphan 1.30.2011 - theBridge Community Church

Review ✦ We are compelled to speak the truth at all times while constantly seeking occasion to demonstrate genuine love for the people of the world.

Psalm 139:13-14 (NLT) 15:18-19 (ESV) ✦ “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”

Psalm 139:15-16 (NLT) 15:18-19 (ESV) ✦ “You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” ✦.”

About the Unborn ✦ An unborn child is uniquely created by God.

Psalm 22:10 (ESV) ✦ “On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God.”

About the Unborn ✦ An unborn child has some form of relationship with God.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NLT) ✦ “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

About the Unborn ✦ An unborn has a purpose defined by God.

Our Responsibility ✦ The church, who is seeking to be the friend of the homeless, the widow, and the orphan, must also be a strong advocate and untiring voice for the unwanted unborn.

How We Speak ✦ “How” we declare truth is absolutely critical. In many cases, it can be the difference between being heard and being ignored.
