I believe in God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. What does this mean? I believe that God created me and all that exists, and that He gave me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my mind and all my abilities. And I believe that God still preserves me by richly and daily providing clothing and shoes, food and drink, property and home, spouse and children, land, cattle, and all I own, and all I need to keep my body and life...

8 Opening Discussion Since God knows everything and He hates sin, why would He let Satan tempt Adam and Eve into sin and let all mankind fall? Did God want us to be sinful?

20 The Results of Sin When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them “man.” When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. Genesis 5:1-3

31 The Results of Sin To the woman He said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” To Adam He said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” Genesis 3:16-19

33 The Results of Sin 4. We suffer pain and sorrow as the consequence of sin

34 The Results of Sin The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time Romans 8:19-22

70 First Article of the Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. What does this mean? I believe that God created me and all that exists, and that He gave me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my mind and all my abilities. And I believe that God still preserves my by richly and daily providing clothing and shoes, food and drink, property and home, spouse and children, land, cattle, and all I own, and all I need to keep my body and life...

71 First Article of the Apostles’ Creed
God also preserves me by defending me against all danger, guarding and protecting me from all evil All this God does only because He is my good and merciful Father in heaven, and not because I have earned or deserved it. For all this I ought to thank and praise, to serve and obey Him. This is most certainly true.

72 Closing Prayer Lord our strength, the battle of good and evil rages within and around us, and our ancient foe tempts us with his deceits and empty promises. Keep us steadfast in Your Word, and when we fall, raise us up again and restore us through Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
