3. a)After Jesus gave the “root values”. (1) They will go out in His name! 2.The world is not going to like them! a)They are eager to go serve. b)They left their livelihood!

4. II.Matthew 10:1-4 A.The 12 “disciples” become 12 Apostles : a)To go down in history as “The one who betrayed Him?” 2.This power their “calling card”.

5. a)They cannot deny their power! III.Matthew 10:5-6 A.Gospel first preached to the house of Israel! 1.Romans 1:16

6. 2.Samaritans were considered “heathens”. a)But Jesus will offer salvation. B.Acts 1:8 1.Theirs included ONLY the Jews!

7. IV.Matthew 10:7-10 A.A contrast to self- proclaimed “healers”! 1.Always do their work at a big crusade? 2.Wouldn’t you head for the nearest hospital?

8. a)Wonderful to clear out the hospital? 3.Admonition toward money. a)To travel with little or nothing! (1) The way it should be?

9. (2) Should we be a blessing in return? B.Jesus will change his instructions for the Apostles: 1.Luke 22:35-37 2.Public opinion turned against them!

10. V.Matthew 10:11-15 A.Stay with those who have a heart for God. 1.Bless them in return for their hospitality! 2.Shake the dust off your feet. a) For 2 reasons.

11. (1) If some won’t listen – others will. (2) A testimony AGAINST that home! (a) Verified by judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah. VI.Matthew 10:16

12. A.They were to be gentle. 1.The serpent viewed as “cunning” and crafty. a) Not “Christian” to be stupid! (1) Not to use our knowledge to hurt others.

13. VII.Matthew 10:17-20 A.A comfort when I defend my character. 1.The Lord will guide. a)He will guide us by His Holy Spirit. b)He would never leave them.

14. VIII.CONCLUSION A.Matthew 10:21-23 1.Even their closest friends will betray them. a)Family would betray family! b) “It isn’t much different today.”
