16 Employee Productivity
The Speed of Business is Accelerating Requires New Internal and External Collaboration Tools ECONOMY POLICY CLOUD MOBILITY SOCIAL BYOD Enterprise Point of Customer Service Point of Employee Productivity Speed is an overarching issue across your organization. This slide is your organization. Where communication and collaboration technologies are needed to target and enable each unique group with the right experiences and tools to address roadblocks to time-to market, competitive leadership and satisfied customer groups. Within each of our organizations the speed of business is not just tied to one technology or group of people. We all move at the speed of the slowest parts of our key business processes. Whether it’s customer service, operations, supply chain or new development. To successfully meet business goals speed needs to be entrenched across all interaction and delivery points, from production to distribution to the point of sale and customer service. You need all of the pieces working together at the same speed, with the same efficiency to achieve desired results and returns. At Avaya we believe that targeting faster real-time collaboration across the enterprise for the right users and key processes is the best way to ensure rapid results. Our methodology is to start by understanding how high priority processes are being driven by today’s business priorities – which are changing significantly with market dynamics including, economic, social, technical trends like cloud, policy and mobility and of course BYOD. The question for businesses is are you bottlenecked in your ability to develop new products and services or easily able to respond to customer and competitive demands. Is it easy for your business to train new channels and use new media and modes of communication or are these key elements of your organization constrained? Customers Users

17 Customers Facing Rapid Technology Change New technologies, adoption challenges, complex multi-vendor environment Tablets by 2016 802 Million Mobile projects will outnumber PC projects 4:1 Increase in dedicated video soft clients by 2016 400% Increase in mobile enterprise investments through 2015 30% Of enterprise will be cloud based by 2015 16% Source: Gartner Why Now Is the Time for Unified Communications? The growing demand for unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) solutions is a key part of the overall rebound in technology spending since the financial turndown. According to the technology research firm IDG, UC&C solutions are “poised to become ubiquitous.”2 In a survey of over 1,000 IT and business professionals, IDG found 60% of them planning to implement or upgrade existing UC&C solutions within the next three years. Another analyst projects an 11.2% growth rate in enterprise investments in UC&C through Mobility is a huge factor in the growth of UC&C: the growing presence of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices in the enterprise took place despite the historically challenging economic environment. But other factors are also playing a major role: Business is virtual: The four walls of the enterprise no longer come even close to defining it. Your employees, partners, suppliers and customers can be anywhere. How easy you make it to connect and collaborate increasingly defines who and what you are as a business. Generational shift: The exit of the Baby Boomers and the rise of the Millennials means more and more people who expect the latest mobile and social networking solutions. Global competition: New marketplace entrants in Asia and Latin America, unencumbered by legacy systems, take UC&C for granted. Being green: UC&C solutions have demonstrated proven performance in reducing commuting and business travel. Video: Video has moved out of dedicated facilities and across the enterprise through casual, cost-effective use on the desktop and on the go, delivering on an expectation that has been talked about for decades. As a result of these and other factors, while enterprises may differ in the timing of their move to UC&C (according to IDG, the larger the organization, the faster the move), it’s no longer a question of “if” but “when.”

18 Meeting The Needs Of All Your Constituents
Line of Business Faster Execution Customer Experience Increase Productivity Problem Resolution ! IT Decrease Cost Simplify Maintenance Integrate Systems Deploy New Services Within your business you are working to meet the needs of multiple groups. Your line of business executives are focused on business results: how to improve customer experience to drive satisfaction, retention and loyalty; how to resolve internal problems better and faster by having the right people more rapidly and more effectively engaged; increasing productivity particularly for key teams or roles that are driving the business – such as sales or new product and service creation. And overall, everyone is looking at how to accelerate the business, ensuring faster execution to respond to customer demands, tackle the competitive dynamics of your marketplace, and to optimize resource use and lower costs. [Build] Within IT, there is the ever present focus on decreasing costs. This means that consideration of new application capabilities must be balanced against standardization and consolidation initiatives that take out costs to provide the financial opportunity to invest in these new capabilities. Part of this will be simplifying ongoing operations and maintenance and integrating systems into broad enterprise-wide platforms that can serve the right applications to any user anywhere. The flexibility to be able to select and easily deploy the right applications and services, based on different users with different needs, is key here. Few organizations can afford to provide every possible capability to every worker – application and collaboration approaches must allow for flexible targeting and deployment. [Build] Generational changes, the increased work intensity and expectations for your staff, and the need to drive productivity, all mean that the direct needs of end-users must be considered. As end-users we all want things to be simpler. We want to be able to work and collaborate anywhere at any time, using any device or communications modality that makes sense for the task at hand. Rapidly getting access to the relevant information we need “at our fingertips” is key to driving smarter, faster decisions. And again, users expect to be increasingly socially connected – both inside work sharing information through enterprise social systems, and outside work with customers, partners, and yes, friends and family too. End User Anywhere, Anytime Social Networking Relevant Information Any Device, Any Modality

Enterprise-wide Collaboration Solutions Faster collaboration, smarter decisions, better business Apps Collaboration Apps Social Media Apps Contact Center Service Providers Standard Media Web Social Networks Stores Branches Avaya Aura® Avaya Networking AvayaLive Cloud Services Service Providers We have looked at a flexible set of collaboration capabilities – but let’s be clear that these all rest on a common architecture for enterprise-wide collaboration. You have probably heard about Avaya Aura before – which we introduced in March 2009 as a “revolution” in communications architecture. Avaya Aura completely “explodes”, or “disaggregates”, the previous IP-PBX model, cleanly separating users and devices (shown at the bottom), through a core SIP communications layer that stretches across the whole enterprise, from applications and resources (shown at the top) which can be simply plugged in and then made accessible to any user anywhere. The Avaya Aura core is distributed across distributed servers for redundancy and scale, but the entire enterprise is managed centrally. This fundamentally changes the costs and complexity of deploying new shared applications, including mobile and video collaboration and contact centers, as well as moving to shared resources such as SIP trunking. At the IT level, consolidation and central management enable significant cost savings to be squeezed out of current systems, which frees up investment funding for targeted new applications like mobile collaboration. [Optionally use this paragraph with IT audiences:] Cost savings benefits include increased use of on-net calling, sharing of trunks and reduction of over-trunking at the edge, single point of integration for SIP trunking, a single enterprise-wide dial plan that routes every call in the lowest-cost way, and the sharing of common applications like messaging, conferencing and video using a common connection to the core rather than many connections between systems. The beauty of the Avaya Aura architecture is that it is also highly evolutionary: existing systems – such Communication Manager, CS 1000, CS 2100 and 3rd party IP-PBXs – once they become SIP-ready they can be “plugged into” the Avaya Aura Session Manager core, immediately benefiting from shared resources while still supporting their existing phones and users. Some applications, like centralized messaging, web and audio conferencing, voice and speech self service, can all be delivered to current users on current phones. Other applications, like Avaya Presence, Avaya Flare and Avaya one-X, as well as video endpoints, use new devices and new experiences that connect directly to the Avaya Aura core. These targeted users can be “rotated” to new devices connected directly to Avaya Aura without having to immediately change existing systems for other users. This is targeted application “quick start” approach allows you to start driving ROI with specific users and processes, while gradually evolving the rest of your environment at your own pace.
