2.  Merlin: Merlin is a brave young wizard who’s mother died and who’s father was an evil king. Merlin is not afraid of anything except for seeing with his eyes and not his mind, because of being blind.When Merlin was born he and his mother were washed up on the shore of Wales. When he started to grow he discovered his magic. Then a few years later his mom died. He later traveled to another world called Fincayra. That is where he began to live and get new foes and friends.  Rhia: Rhia is one of Merlin’s favorite friends. Merlin met her on his beginning journey through Fincayra. Rhia is a person that is related to a tree. She always looks after merlin and she is the bravest person Merlin ever knew.

3.  Caipre: Caipre is a poet who is famous through out Fincayra. He is very wise and a great friend to Merlin. During Merlin’s first adventure he stumbled across Caipre’s house. Caipre first did not trust Merlin but that soon changed and he became Merlin’s guide.  Bumblwy: Bumblewy is a depressed jester that tries so hard to be funny but who can’t.

4.  Grand Elusa: Grand Elusa is the ruler of Fincayra. She is a giant spider like creature who lives in a cave and who can see everything going on.  Ellen: Ellen is Merlin’s mom. Ellen died many years ago and was a great nurse. Ellen's death is what Merlin was always upset about and he would do anything to get her back.

5.  Fincayra: Fincayra is a magical and full of all sorts of wonders. Fincayra is home to many species of mythical beasts. Fincayra is a land full of kindness but also some very deadly wars. Just like on Earth, not everyone agrees on everything so evil beasts commonly are found strolling around the land.

6.  The Otherworld: The Otherworld is technically Fincayra’s own version of heaven. It is the home of the god of Fincayra. When you die you are sent here to live your life in peace. Going to the Otherworld is also the only way you can visit the god unless he comes to you. Also if you are any god, good or bad you can go to the Otherworld.

7.  After Defeating his evil father, Merlin along with Cairpre were walking along Fincayra when they decided to attend a meeting of the Great Council. There the council decided to give the treasures of Fincayra to a some people, and merlin received the Flowering Harp. The harp’s ability was to bring life back to land, and it was Merlin’s job to control it.

8.  While completing his mission, Merlin met up with Rhia his old friend. As he was walking, Merlin started thinking about his mother again and wanted to bring her back. So using his powers Merlin Summoned a talking snail that could Resurrect his mom. Then when Ellen was reborn Merlin gave her a flower that unknowingly was poisoned and Ellen started to weaken.

9.  Then Merlin and Rhia traveled to Cairpre’s village. There Cairpre told them that in order to save Ellen They must get the antidote from the Otherworld. He said to get in the Otherworld without being killed, Merlin must complete the task of the Seven Songs and kill the Ogre Balor to be transported. Then Just as Merlin and Rhia were about to go the depressed jester Bumblwy spotted them and started following them.

10.  All of a sudden Merlin felt that there was someone behind him and turned around. There he saw Bumblwy standing behind him. Merlin asked why Bumblwy was following him and Bumblwy said he just wanted to. Then Merlin said he could and they started completing the quests. Merlin learned that last of the quests involved going to a bakery village. At the village Merlin was employed as a bread maker and was given a sword. He has completed the songs.

11.  After completing the last song Merlin found Bumblwy sitting by the fountain of dough. He then grabbed Bumblwy and got out of the bread village. Their next task was to find the gateway to the Otherworld and kill Balor. After a long hike The team finally found the secret entrance. They then began the dangerous task of killing Balor. 12.  I Would rate this book five out of five stars. This is because it was full of action and adventure and at the end there was a big plot twist that I did not see coming at all.
