6 Ensuring Sustainability Change in Practice Goal Attainment Scale  Each district plan includes measurable goals  Progress reviewed twice a year  5 Year plan and GAS used to guide the districts Data Collection  Quarterly data collected  LRE, Attendance, Behavior (by general ed, special ed, and ethnicity)

7 Goal Attainment Scale (GAS) GOAL 1-STATE LEVEL OBJECTIVE: ANTICIPATED OUTCOME: Degree of Attainment Current Status -2012 Objective 1.1 Coordinate key professional development initiatives. Meet 90% of identified anticipated outcomes for the objective’s activities. 80%85%90%95%100%75% 1.1.1 Invite representatives from each initiative to annual planning meeting. Establish quarterly meetings to review progress and adjust efforts. 90% of invited initiatives participate in planning and quarterly meetings. 80%85%90%95%100% 64.7% Tool to measure the degree of attainment based on goals, objectives, and activities of 5 year plan. Scale range from -2 to 2: 0 = goal has been met -2, -1 goal has not been met 1, 2 goal has been exceeded

8 Four LaSIG Goals State, District, School, Individual levels 17 objectives and 71 different activities LaSIG GAS is measured quarterly and annually

9 5 Year District Plan = District GAS 1 st step – the districts wrote a 5 year plan with goals, objectives, activities based on the needs of district. 2 nd step – create a goal attainment scale tool for district based on 5 year plan to assess progress. The plan is assessed at mid-term and end of year by district level leadership team. 3 rd step – evaluate the outcome of plan at end of the year. (see example of district 5 year plan and GAS)

11 Data-Driven Decisions Traditionally schools/districts view data at the end of the school year. Online Data Reporting System Proactive approach utilizing data Schools/districts are analyzing data quarterly Quarterly data used at monthly meetings (SIT, PBS, etc.) to drive decisions.
