31. Applications  High Performance Backbone / Server Farm Switch Gigabit Ethernet supported equipment had become the fundamental unit of Enterprises and Network servers. With up to 48Gigabits per second of non-blocking switch fabric, the WGSW-24040 can easily provide the high bandwidth required from now on. It can easily provide a local, high bandwidth and Gigabit Ethernet network for backbone of enterprises or Telecoms. It is ideal to be used as a server farm switch connecting servers. With its port trunking function, a 16 GB fat pipe is provided for connecting to the backbone if required. With the four SFP ports, the WGSW-24040 provides the uplink to the edge network through Gigabit Ethernet LX/SX SFP modules. The dual power supplies provide the WGSW-24040R the non-Stop network service ability. Besides the AC power input, the DC power supply can be chosen as -48V DC power input source or redundant power for WGSW-24040R. The WGSW- 24040R can take electrical power either from the AC outlet, the DC outlet or both for redundant.

What is IPv6 ?  Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) IPv6 is the next-generation Internet Protocol version designated as the successor to IPv4, the first implementation used in the Internet that is still in dominant use currently. It is an Internet Layer protocol for packet-switched internetworks. The main driving force for the redesign of Internet Protocol was the foreseeable IPv4 address exhaustion. IPv6 was defined in December 1998 by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) with the publication of an Internet standard specification, RFC 2460. IPv6 has a vastly larger address space than IPv4. This results from the use of a 128-bit address, whereas IPv4 uses only 32 bits.
