3 www.birtel.com.tr Case Study Current Situation: 150 Branches Headquarter : Alcatel PBX Branches: Alcatel Omni PBX 20 of 150 branches have 1 FCT (mobile phone like device for GSM comm.), rest have 2 FCTs – one for Türkcell (GSM Operator) other for Avea (GSM Operator). Alcatel PBX : IP Yes, H323 Yes, no SIP licence for this bank Requirement: Without going to branches, management of GSM communication, holding SIM cards in headquarter, monitoring branches, usage reporting etc. According to the usage (traffic) of GSM, increase SIM card quantity and change GSM operator (just replacing SIM cards)

5 www.birtel.com.tr Solution and Advantages Solution: FCT devices used in branches have a lot problems. Not functioning very well. Instead of FCT device, Gateway(VoiBridge) is used with the functionality of virtual SIM. SIM information copied from SIM Box located in headquarter. All SIMs are installed to SIM BOX in headquarter and managed by SIM Server. The SIM information copied by intranet, ADSL internet etc. connection from SIM BOX to Gateway. Like FCT, GSM communication carried out from branches. No voice transfer from branches to headquarter or vice versa. Advantages: Central Management of SIM cards Assigning needed quantity and type of SIM cards to any branches. In any time change, increase SIM cards Operator change can be made easier. Just change SIM cards Enables planing of GSM traffic according to usage – easy to increase SIM cards SMS sending with additional licence PBX functionality with additional licence
