4 Qualities needed to be saved God has provided the sacrifice needed for all to be saved From God’s word believe what God has done and humbly accept it without intellectualising Develop remorse for sin and love for God on that basis and by allowing the Holy Spirit to convict of sin Repent of sin and trust in God to do what he provided for, surrendering your own will and any fears Be open to receive God’s grace with a soft heart VernE ©

5 The Basis of the Christian Life Have hope for the future - this is not my home, just passing through (Hebrews 11:10,13-16) Serve and witness Doing God's will Read and meditate on the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Use the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:1-11) Pray Exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) Have fellowship with Holy Spirit and God's people Led by the Spirit Have peace (Romans 5:1) Trust and have faith in God motivation - love, faith and hope Rescued from the dominion of darkness, brought Know that God forgives, loves and accepts you into Christ’s kingdom (Colossians 1:13) Know that God cares and provides for you New covenant with God the king (Jer 31:31-34, Heb 9:15): You are secure on this solid foundation Surrender and submit all you have to God He provides you with all you need Remain in Christ and he will remain in you (John 15:4,7) receive all you need e.g. protection Live in union with Christ – Keep your roots in him, build your lives on him Become stronger in your faith (Colossians 2:7) Believe based on the word, love based on what Christ did for you, trust based on his faithfulness, thus enabling you to surrender to his will VernE ©

7 Life from the Spirit Since you have been raised with Christ set your heart on things in heaven (Colossians 3:1-2) You have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3) If Christ lives in you, the Spirit is life for you because you have been put right with God (Romans 8:10) Come to Jesus and drink – life giving waters of the Spirit will flow (John 7:38,39) Eat – the living bread from heaven gives eternal life (John 6:51) Believe in Jesus – eternal life (John 11:25,26) His words bring God’s life-giving Spirit (John 6:63) Eternal life was with the Father and was made known to us (1 John 1:2) The Word was with God and was the source of life which brought light to humanity (John 1:2,4) VernE ©
