4 How do we start? Students with credit deficit identified Discussion about suitablity with programme leader Applicants then apply and enrol on Making Experience Count module Informed of date for workshop

5 Workshop Meet staff face to face Presentation explaining the process of making a claim Students are advised on how many written accounts they are required to submit - (3) if their claim is for less than 60 credits, 60 credits or over (5 + presentation) Deadlines Opportunity to ask questions APEL Packs

6 Support Named contact to assist with claim Students can liaise with named contact for additional support Students can submit each written account for feedback Feedback is given and should be acted upon prior to portfolio submission Feedback on portfolio once marked Presentation feedback ( over 60 credits)

7 Support cycle 1st account submitted for feedback Acadmic staff review Student receives feedback 2 nd account submitted for feeedback Academic staff review Student receives feedback Portfolio submission Feedback on portfolio Student gives presentation Feedback on presentation

10 Evidence of Success Over 50 students successfully completing since the academic year 2012-2013 Students feel more confident in their practice since completing their APEL claims Students can explain practice better during HMIE visits Practice adopted by other schools within UWS such as Health, Nursing & Midwifery, Occupational Health and Safety.
