What does Jesus think about sex?

Matthew 5:27-30 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Never commit adultery.’ But I can guarantee that whoever looks with lust at a

woman has already committed adultery in his heart. So if your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It

is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have all of it thrown into hell. And if your right hand leads you to sin, cut it off

and throw it away. It is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have all of it go into hell.”

Adultery is the “act of being unfaithful to one’s wife or husband by voluntarily having sexual intercourse with someone else.” (Oxford Dictionary)

Jesus takes that a step further and taught that adultery could also be a sin of the mind.

He interpreted the 7th command, “you shall not commit adultery” in the light of the 10th command, “Do not covet your neighbor’s wife.”

What does God think about sex?

He invented it for the pleasure of men and women.

How did God intend it to be used?

Genesis 2:24-25 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will

become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.”

To use God’s gift outside the context of marriage is to violate the operating instructions in the owner’s manual.

Jesus couldn’t be more contemporary than He is in these verses.

Recent studies say that there are more people looking at porn on the web at any moment than the numbers that are on Amazon, Twitter and Netflix combined.

Satan is always in the business of taking something good of God’s and perverting it into something bad that will destroy us.

2 thoughts for us today:

1) Don’t put yourself in harm’s way.

2) Invest yourself in your marriage now. “Become Best Friends” Satisfy each other in marriage.

We live in a river of filth.

The world thinks there should be no restraints. Anything goes

Jesus doesn’t. One man One woman Forever

Who are you going to think like?

1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 “It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to

control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no

one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For

God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.”

Satan desires to destroy our families.

1. If you are guilty know that you can be forgiven-if you repent. And the Spirit will enable you to come out of your sin.

2. If you are headed down the wrong road then the Lord has issued you a personal warning today to remove yourself from harm’s way.

3. The Lord is calling on every married couple here today to give themselves 100% to one another.
