6 Meet the Proud Principal Casey Crouse Grew up in Delaware –BA in Math Education from UofD –MBA from Loyola –Doctoral Candidate at UM 19 Years in Education –High School Teacher –Central Office –Magnet Coordinator/AP (Argyle MS) –Principal Starting 5 th Year at Eastern Married with 2 Kids –Husband is a High School Assistant Principal –Brenden (8 th Grade) –Nathan (5 th Grade) –2 Step-Daughters and 4 Grandkids!

10 Agenda Books Includes all school policies – also posted on the website Used to record homework in each class $5 for replacement books Parents are encouraged to check the agenda book daily.

11 School Schedule First class begins at 7:55AM 7 Classes 4 Minutes for Passing 30 Minutes for Lunch Dismissal is at 2:40PM Bell Schedule is in the Agenda Book

12 Student Academic Progress Please Check Edline Grades will be posted by ID number inside/outside each classroom every two weeks. Interim Reports are posted on Edline at the midway point of each quarter. Contact the Teacher

14 Attendance Doors open at 7:30AM All students are expected to be in class ready to begin by 7:55AM Dismissal at 2:40PM Late –Check in the main office before going to class Absences –Call the office morning of absence OR Send email to EMSAttendance@mcpsmd.orgEMSAttendance@mcpsmd.org –Please send note with student upon return

16 After-school Activities Activities Begin September 10 Sports, Clubs, Academic Support Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays Activity Buses are available Information will be distributed to all students

17 How Can You Support Your Student’s Success Support students attendance everyday and on time Monitor Agenda Book Quiet Place for Homework Review Completed Homework Review academic progress Communicate concerns with teacher and/or counselor Monitor behaviors outside of school –Ask a lot of questions –Get to know their friends Monitor internet usage Be their PARENT and be our PARTNER
