3. FINANCIAL ASPECTS WP4 colleagues from AP institutes (EE/BG/FIN): in December 2010 the EC has sent the 2nd payment to INT (was expected: May 2010). Next week INT admin will request an invoice to your admin for money transfer. WP4 colleagues from CP institutes (Lit/Lat/Rom): Unofficially, the EC has accepted our request to amend the contract (move credits from INT-staff to INT- subcontract budget line). As the official signature is still missing, our admin cannot yet initiate staff contracts. This may lead to a possible project time extension.

5. EUROCHIP-3 WP3 Evaluation The Bulgaria lead work package on the evaluation of the project monitors the activity of the entire project This is the reason why you received questionnaire from Yulia and Zdravka Next WP3 activity: reporting WP1 on the project status between M18 and M28, including progresses, dissemination initiatives, delays, problems. The report will be used to ask the EC for a postponement of 6 months at least.

6. EUROCHIP-3 and EPAAC in 2009 the EC promoted the Joint “European Partnership Action Against Cancer” now starting (2011-2013) various meetings/conferences will be organised on various aspects of cancer control (EPAAC includes 5 vertical work packages and 4 horizontal ones) the WP on cancer information is lead by Italy at INT (EUROCARE leader Milena Sant and the EUROCHIP group) the WP on cancer screening is lead by Finland (Ahti) the activity of EUROCHIP-3 WPs 4, 5, 6 and 7 will be disseminated through EPAAC

7. EUROCHIP-3 and ECPC ECPC, secretariat to MAC between 2006 and 2008, is now active with the initiative FACE. AIMS: monitoring and supporting the work of the European Union in its fight against cancer. FACE provide the human face of cancer through the voice of the cancer patients, addresses many important issues in the EU that concern cancer, and present the faces (e.g. MEPs and EU Commission) that will take a lead on these topics. A number of MEPs are committed to follow one or more issues for the term of their legislature, for example on cancer research, cross border health care, rare cancers, clinical trials, palliative care etc. Proposed 1 day FACE workshop at EU Parliament on the EUROCHIP-3 WP4 topics. 22 MARCH, 13 APRIL?
